History of ZICO and the ZICO Law Network

We have mobilised and innovated ourselves around the needs of our clients, and by securing a network into the ASEAN bloc, we give our clients unparalleled access to markets in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
From Foundation to #1 Malaysian Law Firm
From our inception in 1987, Zaid Ibrahim & Co. (ZI) has become the largest law firm in Malaysia with over 100 lawyers within 10 years.
ZI joined Andersen Legal network in 1998.
From Malaysian to ASEAN
Anticipating the development of the ASEAN region, ZI was the first Malaysian law firm to expand out of the country, beginning its regional expansion in 2003 and consolidating its footprint with the creation of the ZICO Law network in 2011. Today, our geographical footprint stretches across all 10 ASEAN countries.
From Law to Multidisciplinary Platform (MDP)
In 2014, pioneering the legal industry and anticipating the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), the ZICO Law network, supported by ZICO Holdings Inc. (ZHI), created an integrated Multidisciplinary Platform becoming “globally, one of the first law firms to expand horizontally into the broader professional services market” (Financial Times, 3 June 2016).
